Dorm rooms are available for Friday and Saturday nights, and even Thursday if you ask!
Don't miss the special event for Dorm & Meal Planners on Friday night: Doom & Pain Pajama Party
If you didn't hear the chatter on AQ, it originate with some typos regarding "Dorm" and "Plan".
ROOMS: Oak Hall has suites with four rooms each which share one semi-private bathroom.
- Each room in the suite has a lock so that personal belongings can be safe.
- The entire suite has a locking card like a hotel (security cards are also required to get into the building).
- Each room in the suite has a SINGLE bed, desk, and microwave.
- Only one adult will fit per room, but families can allow a child to sleep on the floor so that kids don’t have to be alone (there is no extra charge, but you must bring your own sleeping bags, pack-n-play or infant bed and bathroom linens). You can see from the photos that the rooms are not large, so don’t plan on cramming in too many kids and stuff, but a family with three small children could probably get away with two rooms in the same suite. If you do plan to add children in your room, please indicate the number of occupants on your reservation form so that UMSL will have an accurate headcount for safety purposes.
- The bathroom is actually semi-private, with toilet and shower stalls and two sinks.
- Bed linens and shower towels are provided. Pool towels are not provided.
- Dorm rental is $25/night per room
MEAL PLAN: If desired, you may make reservations to eat in the Oak Hall dining hall.
There is also a convenience store located on the first floor of Oak Hall and a community kitchen that you are welcome to use.
Dining Hall meal prices: Hot Breakfast: $5.50, Cold Packed Lunch: $5.50, Hot Lunch: $6.00, Hot Dinner: $7.60
ALCOHOL: Alchoholic beverages are not permitted in the dorm buildings.
RESERVATIONS: We have blocked one floor of Oak Hall, which is comprised of 72 individual rooms. Suites will be filled from the ends of the floor to the middle, with families on one end and adult-only suites on the other end. Single adults will be placed in single-gender suites unless other arrangements are requested. There is a place on the reservation form to designate suitemates so that you can room with your friends/family.

TRANSPORTATION: One of the reasons that UMSL was chosen for LB CON is the availability of easy transportation from the airport. Metrolink is a light rail system that connects various areas of St. Louis and there is a stop about .2 miles away from the front doors of Oak Hall. The conference center is about .8 miles from the dorm. If you are not planning on bringing your own transportation, please indicate this on your reservation form. If there are enough people without transportation, we will try to arrange a morning shuttle over to the conference center on Saturday. Otherwise, those few can probably carpool with other letterboxers or enjoy a morning stroll.
