Please note that the campgrounds listed have only been somewhat/barely reviewed by the CON Committee. Use at your own risk.

Caution: St. Louis weather in July is usually very hot and muggy (with mosquitos and ticks). Check the weather forecast and plan accordingly. Tip from MO UR4Me - bring your own soap; the Missouri State Park bathrooms don't have it!

I-64/Hwy 40 may be closed in the St. Louis, MO area for The New I-64 reconstruction project. Be sure to verify your route on MoDOT's website, The New I-64 project.

Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park	32 miles	Wildwood, MO (SW of UMSL off Hwy 109). Thirteen miles of hiking trails ensure a variety of rewarding outdoor experiences. Klondike Park	36 miles	Augusta, MO (W of UMSL off Hwy 94). Gorgeous park overlooking the Missouri River features a lake-once-quarry with white sand and scenic views; alongside the Katy Trail (bike trail). Offers cabins and tent camping. Greensfelder County Park	39 miles	Eureka, MO (SW of UMSL off I-44). Laying at the foothills of the gently rolling Ozark mountain range, it features lovely shaded trails and spectacular views, horse boarding, equestrian and group camping, hayrides, trails, nature learning center, picnic sites and shelters, playground and trim orienteering course. Family Campsites Area consists of hard-surfaces pulloffs to accommodate recreational vehicles, fire pit, pit latrines and picnic table (no water or electricity). St. Louis County. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Resort	40 miles	Eureka, MO (SW of UMSL off I-44) Cottages and camping (tent and RV) available, as well as air-conditioned "camping cabins". Conveniently located just ¼ mile from the gate of Six Flags and nestled among 35 wooded acres; offers fun and adventure of a back-to-nature vacation combined with first class resort amenities including free WIFI, pool, mini-golf, video arcade, train rides, arts & crafts, a variety of outdoor games, and daily character visits from Yogi Bear. Cuivre River State Park	50 miles	Troy, MO (NW of UMSL, off Hwys 61 and 47). Cuivre River State Park lends a wilder, Ozarkian flavor to the otherwise predominately agricultural landscape of northern Missouri. One of the state's largest parks, both primitive and modern campsites are available, and Lake Lincoln offers swimming, boating and fishing and a great sandy beach. Three natural areas -- areas noted for their high-quality ecosystems -- feature native prairie, sinkhole ponds, woodlands and a clear, rock-bottomed stream is one of the finest undisturbed streams left in northeastern Missouri. Tent and electric RV sites available. There is an 8-box cryptology series (you will need to decode the clues in advance) between here and UMSL. Robertsville State Park	54 miles	Robertsville, MO (S of UMSL off Hwy O south of I-44). Playground, well-shaded basic and electric campsites are nestled among the wooded hills. The 1,225-acre park features a variety of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages, including canoeing and fishing in the adjoining Meramec River. Meramec State Park	76 miles	Sullivan, MO (SW of UMSL off I-44 and Hwy 185). Cave tours, camping, rental cabins, motel rooms, trails, swimming, fishing, rafting and canoeing in the Meramec River. Visitor center offers a mix of educational exhibits including large aquariums that display the amazing variety of aquatic life found in the river.
